The Acting Class: Monday Day, 12-5 pm EST
$270 Per month for four in-person classes
Maximum: 16 actors per class
Our signature, ongoing acting class featuring a distillation of the best elements of the Method, Meisner Technique and Adler Technique, including many of our own innovations such as Script Inquiry®, our proprietary method of script analysis, and Building the Physical Life Of the Role.

The Online Acting Class: Tuesdays, 6-11 pm, EST
$250 per month for four virtual classes
Maximum: 12 actors per class
From the comfort of your own space, join us on Zoom for the most complete online acting class anywhere. Learn the procedures for working with Instrument, Technique, Script Interpretation and Characterization, ranging from individual exercises, to partner work, all the way up to full-on scene study. Dive into a complete process and develop your way of working.

INTENSIVES
Specifically designed for those wishing to continue their studies who may not be able to commit to an ongoing class, our Intensives options break the work down into a shorter workshop format, allowing you to tailor your learning to what you need in your development, here and now. These interactive, learn-by-doing seminars can be taken as a set of courses over time, or be used as stand-alone workshops in and of themselves, and are open to returning members as well as those who are new to our work.

The Emotional Preparation Intensive 1 & 2
Learn a dependable process for arriving in the creative state and experiencing what your character is experiencing, giving your acting and auditions power and depth.

Script Interpretation
A four-week deep-dive into mining the script for what’s actable. Discover what to read for, how to make pictures that make the script a living experience, working with Active Imagination, how to find the Simple Reality of any situation and the choices that bring your character and the story to life.

Objectives: The Actor’s Most Essential Tool
This detailed and comprehensive intensive covers everything needed to work with the most essential tool in all of acting—Objectives. Learn about the four elements of an effective Objective and how to creatively manipulate them using the Four Units of Time of acting, leading to choices that are creative, specific and illuminate the life of your character and the scene.

Characterization: The Portal To Improvisation
Characterization is the art of creating a specific filter through which you improvise freely within the dictates of the story you’re telling. In this immersive four-week course, we introduce the actor to the unique process used at the Folster Studio for arriving at rich, compelling characters. Working with such essential tools as Point Of View, The Character Mantra, Social Dictate, The Character Idea, The Stella Adler Breakdown, Emotional Line, Aristotle’s Trick, Animals and Objects, Imitation, How to Homework the Physical Life, and more, each actor gets to explore the freedom and specificity inherent in character acting, from simple alterations to their own behavior to complete physical and emotional transformation.

On-Camera Auditioning
Learn a distilled version of our Script Inquiry® process designed for the fast turn-around of today’s self-tape and on-camera environments. Instrumental work for the camera along with Characterization tools for making physical adjustments.
